Jesus Luzardo Not Yet Throwing
2 years agoMiami Marlins left-hander Jesus Luzardo (forearm) has yet to resume throwing, according to manager Don Mattingly. The Marlins originally thought it would only be a couple days before Luzardo would resume throwing. He will need to be built back up as a starter. "It's not as good as we would've liked," Mattingly said. The 24-year-old southpaw won't be eligible to return from the 15-day injured list when he's eligible while dealing with a strained left forearm, so fantasy managers must be patient. Before the injury, Luzardo had a 4.03 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, a 34.5% strikeout rate and a career-high 13.5% walk rate in 29 innings pitched over his first six starts for the Marlins. With a 3.77 FIP, Luzardo deserves to be stashed in most fantasy formats.
