Jesus Aguilar On The Rise
4 years agoMiami Marlins first baseman Jesus Aguilar is back to hitting the ball hard this year after giving up arugula for arepas. Aguilar was one of the team's best players in the shortened 2020 season when he hit .277/.352/.457 with eight home runs and 34 RBI in 51 games, and he has retained that good form into this season through 84 plate appearances. The 30-year-old already has two hits and two runs scored on Monday night to bring his slash line to .296/.381/.479 with three home runs, 10 runs scored and 17 RBI. Aguilar has walked 11 times and struck out 11 times so far this season. Over the weekend, the right-handed slugger homered in three straight games against the San Francisco Giants. He's clearly seeing the ball well and is in great shape.
