Jesse Winker Injured Sunday
5 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Jesse Winker (side) was removed from the game early on Sunday after grimacing after swinging and missing at a pair of pitches in the sixth inning. Winker signaled an injury to the left side of his body. While more details will emerge on Winker's status either later Sunday or Monday, this injury could be related to an oblique pull, which would almost certainly require Winker to take a trip to the injured list. The good news is he had a single and two RBI in four plate appearances before he left Sunday. The 25-year-old is slashing a mediocre .250/.328/.462 with 13 home runs, 38 runs and 29 RBI on the season. If he's forced to miss time with his injury, Phillip Ervin, who had six hits on Saturday, would see regular playing time.
