Jerick McKinnon Suffers Another Setback
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said "yesterday was not encouraging" as far as running back Jerick McKinnon's (knee) return to practice. This latest setback almost assures that McKinnon won't be ready for Week 1, and he could be placed on Injured Reserve. McKinnon tore his ACL and missed all of last season. He's a distant third behind Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida and shouldn't be drafted as a result. Raheem Mostert or Jeffery Wilson could become the third back heading into the regular season opener.
