Jeremy Jeffress Nearing Rehab Assignment
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress (shoulder) threw an inning in extended spring training on Saturday and will pitch again on Tuesday. If that goes well, he'll begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A San Antonio at the end of next week. Even though he's currently on the injured list, Jeffress became a lot more interesting for fantasy owners when it was announced on Friday that Corey Knebel (elbow) would be out for the year. Jeffress had a 1.29 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 10.4 K/9 and 15 saves in 73 outings for the Brew Crew last year. He could mix in with Josh Hader for saves when he's ready to return. The right-hander is a valuable stash in fantasy leagues if you're speculating on saves.
