Jeffery Wilson Piles Up 24 Touches
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jeffery Wilson handled 23 carries for 90 yards in Week 14’s win against the Denver Broncos. He added one catch for six yards. It was a blue-collared day at the office for the undrafted rookie, who the Niners leaned on to protect a wire-to-wire victory. Despite 3.9 YPC and a long run of only 11 yards, Wilson was the clear lead dog in the backfield. Veteran Alfred Morris only saw three touches. The Niners’ excellent run-blocking and commitment to Wilson makes him an RB3 as long as Matt Breida (ankle) remains sidelined. If Breida is healthy enough to return, it’s probable they evenly split snaps, rendering both players as just flexes. Wilson’s fantasy value will depend on Breida’s status leading up to Week 15 against the Seattle Seahawks.
