Jeff Samardzija Throws Live Batting Practice Tuesday
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija (shoulder) got through his live batting practice session on Tuesday and said he felt good while throwing all of his pitches. Samardzija is coming off season-ending shoulder surgery and will see some action when the team kicks off their spring schedule this weekend. The Giants anticipate him being ready for the start of the season. It's good news for a Giants rotation that dealt with a lot of injuries last year. The Shark only made 10 starts in 2018 and wasn't good when he was on the mound (6.25 ERA, 1.63 WHIP). The 34-year-old can be ignored in mixed leagues but could be a matchup play in DFS and NL-only affairs.
