Jeff McNeil To Split Time Between Outfield, Infield
6 years agoNew York Mets manager Mickey Callaway said that infielder Jeff McNeil will work 50/50 in the outfield and infield for the rest of spring training. McNeil is expected to see most of his time in left field in 2019, but he might be needed on the infield to start the season with both Todd Frazier and Jed Lowrie injured. McNeil hit a cool .329 with three home runs, 19 RBI and seven stolen bases in 225 at-bats last year, but don't expect his average to be quite as useful over a full campaign. He's not a bad utility bench player to have in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, though.
