6 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Jed Lowrie (knee) will head to the team's spring training complex in Florida to begin taking live batting practice, although he's not yet scheduled for a rehab assignment. Lowrie has been slow to recover from a sprained capsule in his knee, but this represents notable progress. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to return until next month, and it'll be interesting to see how the Mets handle playing time at third base between him, Jeff McNeil and Todd Frazier. There's a very good chance that Lowrie won't come anywhere close to putting up the numbers he did in his final season in Oakland when he was an All-Star in 2018.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
