Jed Lowrie Still Not Running At Full Speed
6 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Jed Lowrie hasn't attempted to run at full speed five weeks after suffering a sprained left knee capsule. He ran earlier this week on an anti-gravity treadmill, but he doesn't seem close to a full slate of sprints or baseball activities. As a result, Lowrie won't be ready for Opening Day and the team has no idea what his timetable will be. With both Lowrie and corner infielder Todd Frazier (oblique) set to open on the injured list, Jeff McNeil will serve as the primary third baseman and will likely be the two-hole hitter against right-handers.
