6 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Jay Bruce is not in the starting lineup on Thursday. Although he has eight home runs and 14 RBI on the year, Bruce is hitting just .164 (11-for-67) and has one hit in his last 18 at-bats. Edwin Encarnacion is at first base and is hitting cleanup, while Daniel Vogelbach is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth against Angels starter Chris Stratton. Stratton is a nice matchup for the M's hitters, giving both Encarnacion and Vogelbach plenty of DFS appeal Thursday night. Bruce might need to be benched in season-long leagues until he starts hitting the ball with authority again.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
