Jay Bruce Benched Against Left-Hander
6 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman/outfielder Jay Bruce is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against Yankees left-handed starting pitcher J.A. Happ. Mitch Haniger is in right field and is batting second, while Braden Bishop is in center field and hitting ninth. Haniger is usually a fine daily pick, and he's hitting .320/.485/.560 with a homer and four RBI in 33 plate appearances against southpaws this year. Bishop should be faded in DFS contests. Shortstop Tim Beckham is another good DFS play despite his cold streak of late. He is batting .286 in his career with two homers and four RBI in 21 at-bats against Happ.
