Jay Bruce Appears Headed For Injured List
5 years agoUpdating a previous report, Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Jay Bruce (oblique) left the game with a strained right oblique after a swing on Tuesday night. Bruce was hitless with two strikeouts in his two plate appearances before leaving. Oblique strains usually require injured list stints and can keep players out for over a month, especially an aging veteran like Bruce. The left-handed power hitter is batting just .230 on the season but has helped fantasy owners with his 24 home runs and 57 RBI in 305 plate appearances. Get ready to be without him for a while, though. Roman Quinn and Adam Haseley figure to see more chances in the outfield with Bruce likely headed to the shelf for at least several weeks.
