Jason Garrett Won't Take Over Play-Calling Duties
6 years agoDallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said he will not take over play-calling duties from offensive coordinator Scott Linehan at this time. “Right now, Scott Linehan is going to call the plays for the offense," Garrett said. That doesn't mean a change isn't on the horizon, but Linehan will at least be running the offense in Week 10 against the Eagles. Even with new acquisition Amari Cooper as the No. 1 wideout, Dallas has one of the worst passing offenses in the NFL. They rank 27th in yards per game (317.1), 29th in passing yards per game (188.4) and 26th in points per game (19.3) through nine weeks. That has made life difficult on quarterback Dak Prescott. Don't expect a lot to change moving forward, although Cooper at least raises the ceiling for this offense a bit.
