Jared Spurgeon Gets Hurt In Saturday's Loss
3 years agoMinnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon exited Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Panthers in the first period with an apparent lower-body injury. He took only three shifts and logged just a bit over three minutes on the ice. We don't know a lot about the injury just yet, but the Wild captain should be considered extremely questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Lightning. Spurgeon has recorded eight points in 17 outings this season with 27 shots, 14 hits and 22 blocks. Calen Addison will likely be summoned from the minors if Spurgeon is forced to miss any time. He boasts one goal in two NHL outings this season and has had a good campaign in the AHL with six assists in 10 appearances.
