Jared Goff Struggling With Pressure, Deep Passes
5 years agoLos Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has a 29.8 passer rating when under pressure in his last four starts dating back to last year's Divisional playoff round, completing just 33.3 percent of his passes with no touchdowns and two interceptions, according to Next Gen Stats. Goff has performed better while running play action, but the Rams ran play action just 26.8 percent of their dropbacks in Week 1 against Carolina. He also has a 59.3 passer rating on intermediate and deep throws while managing 8.7 yards per attempt, zero touchdowns and two interceptions in his last four games dating back to the playoffs last year. Goff had the worst passer rating (18.8) of any QB in Week 1 on passes of 10-plus air yards, going 4-for-13 for 72 yards. It's definitely concerning and worth watching, but Goff remains in play as a QB1 for Week 2 in the NFC Championship rematch with the Saints at home this Sunday.
