Jameson Taillon Has Another Tommy John Surgery
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (elbow) will miss the rest of this season and all of 2020 after undergoing a second Tommy John procedure on Tuesday. The right-hander also underwent right flexor tendon surgery. Injuries have been consistent in his young career, and Taillon will be 29 years old when he's ready to return to a major league mound. He finishes the 2019 season with a 2-3 record, 4.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in his seven starts (37 1/3 innings). Taillon should be able to make a return in 2021, but it's fair to wonder if he'll ever be as effective as he was in his breakout 2018 season.
