Jaguars Release Carlos Hyde, Malik Jackson
6 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars released running back Carlos Hyde and defensive tackle Malik Jackson on Friday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Jags traded for Hyde last year as depth for Leonard Fournette, and he ran for 411 yards and five touchdowns on 120 touches. Hyde won't count against the salary cap and the team will save $4.7 million this year. The Jaguars also released safety Tashaun Gipson and right tackle Jermey Parnell. Jackson will count $4 million against the cap and the Jags will save $11 million as they prepare to make a run at quarterback Nick Foles. Jackson had 14.5 sacks and four forced fumbles his first two seasons in Jacksonville but played only 64.1 percent of the defensive snaps in 2018 and finished with only 3.5 sacks.
