Jack Flaherty Masterful Again On Monday
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty was masterful again on Monday, limiting the Kansas City Royals to just one hit in five innings of work. Flaherty didn't allow a walk and struck out three, lowering his ERA to 1.98 and earning his second win of the season to lift his record to 2-0. He only threw 64 pitches, but with a 6-0 lead already, the Cardinals decided to pull their 24-year-old ace to not extend his pitch count too much. Flaherty should continue to be one of the best pitchers in the game, and he should start going deeper and deeper into his starts as he gets stretched back out after all the time the Cardinals had off.
