J.T. Realmuto Expects To Be Traded
6 years agoMiami Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto's agent, Jeff Berry, said his client expects to be traded this winter. “I think he will definitely be wearing a different uniform by the start of spring training," Berry said. The agent also made it clear that Realmuto won't be signing a long-term contract extension with the Fish this offseason. The Marlins are firmly in the middle of a rebuild and Realmuto would rather be playing elsewhere in the prime of his career. The 27-year-old was arguably the best catcher in baseball in 2018, hitting .277/.340/.484 with 21 home runs and 74 RBI. He's already one of the top fantasy catchers off the board, so his value should rise with a likely move to a better ball club.
