5 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher J.C. Ramirez (elbow) threw 84 pitches at Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday and reported feeling good, according to manager Brad Ausmus. The Angels have yet to decide if Ramirez will return to the team as a starter or reliever, and he's out of minor league options. The longest the Angels can keep him in the minors is June 29. The right-hander has allowed 10 earned runs in 10 2/3 innings in his three rehab starts as he attempts to come back from Tommy John surgery. Ramirez could become an option for the Halos rotation and fantasy owners in the second half of this year, but he'd merely be a deep league streamer if he's starting.
