Ian Happ Socks Go-Ahead Homer Against Giants
2 days agoChicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ played the role of hero in Thursday afternoon's extra-inning win over the hosting San Francisco Giants, mashing his 10th home run of the year. Happ lifted a ball to center field off Giants right-hander Luke Jackson that hit the wall and went over for a go-ahead two-run homer in the 10th inning on Thursday. The streaky 29-year-old switch-hitter has been up and down for the Cubs all season long, slashing a pedestrian .228/.339/.408 with 42 RBI, 42 walks, 40 runs scored, and seven stolen bases through 272 at-bats. Without a consistent premium spot in Chicago's batting order, Happ has settled in as a lower-end fantasy option among outfielders.
