Hunter Pence Unlikely To Return Thursday
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Hunter Pence (groin) is unlikely to return from the injured list when he's eligible on Thursday. He ran for the first time on Tuesday at around 60 to 70 percent intensity, according to manager Chris Woodward. Pence has been reborn in Texas in 2019 and was hitting a surprising .294/.353/.608 with 15 home runs, 44 runs, 48 RBI and even three steals before getting injured. He should return to regular playing time when he's ready, which will create even more of a logjam in the outfield and at designated hitter between Delino DeShields, Joey Gallo, Nomar Mazara, Shin-Soo Choo and Willie Calhoun. Something will have to give, but Pence has earned regular playing time and a spot on all fantasy rosters.
