Hunter Harvey Receives Good News
6 years agoBaltimore Orioles pitching prospect Hunter Harvey (elbow) received good news when a follow-up appointment revealed no structural damage in his right elbow, according to multiple industry sources. Harvey was the team's first-round pick in 2013 and entered the year as the team's top pitching prospect despite dealing with injuries throughout his career so far. He was attempting to return from Tommy John surgery this spring but suffered a freak shoulder injury while trying to avoid a foul ball in the dugout in the minor leagues and didn't make a start after June 1. He was a candidate for the Arizona Fall League before his latest arm injury shut him down. There's still hope that Harvey can contribute at the next level, and he recently added a cut fastball to his repertoire. Harvey has yet to have a full professional season due to injuries, and his prospect status is dimming each year. He's no longer a must-stash in dynasty/keeper leagues.
