Hunter Dozier Starts Rehab Assignment
5 years agoKansas City Royals third baseman Hunter Dozier (chest) started his rehab assignment with Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Monday. He'll make a trip back to Kansas City for the birth of his second child later in the week, so it's unclear when his rehab assignment will end. Manager Ned Yost said the plan was for Dozier to play Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and his rehab assignment could shift to Triple-A Omaha this weekend. He's been on the 10-day injured list since June 3 with right thorax tightness and was listed on the injured list with a right oblique strain. He's ranked fifth in the American League in average (.314), sixth in on-base percentage (.398) and fifth in slugging percentage (.589) this year. Needless to say he should be owned everywhere in what has been a breakout season. Hopefully he can return early next week.
