Hue Jackson Pumps Breaks On Coaching Changes
6 years agoDespite another loss and mediocre offensive showing, Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson shot down reports that offensive coordinator Todd Haley's job is in jeopardy. Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield was sacked twice and pressured throughout the loss to the Steelers, while receiver Jarvis Landry, tight end David Njoku and running back Duke Johnson combined for 10 catches and 55 yards. “No. I don’t want to talk about or give legs to anything about last week,” Jackson said after the Browns 15th straight loss at Heinz Field. “I said what I said out of frustration. That’s over and done with. Let’s go watch the tape and see how we can get better.” Cleveland entered the Week 8 game ranked tied for 23rd in scoring (21.6 points per game) and 22nd in yards (357.4). The Browns have lost three in a row and Mayfield has predictably seen his ups and downs in his rookie season with Landry and a thin and inexperienced group of receivers behind him. It doesn't look like this offense will improve drastically anytime soon.
