4 years agoSecond baseman Howie Kendrick announced his retirement on Monday after 15 major league seasons. Kendrick won a World Series title with the Washington Nationals in 2019 and was named the MVP of the National League Championship Series while also hitting a go-ahead home run in Game 7 of the World Series to help beat the Astros. The 37-year-old hit .275 with two home runs and 14 RBI in the shortened 2020 season with the Nats, but they declined his $6.5 million mutual option for the 2021 season, instead giving him a $2.25 million buyout. Kendrick hit .316 with 30 homers and 113 RBI in his four seasons in D.C. He also spent time with the Dodgers, Angels and Phillies, hitting .294 in his career with 127 home runs and 724 RBI in 15 seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
