Health Didn't Limit Doug Baldwin To One Catch In Week 5
6 years agoEven though Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin (knee) is unlikely to be 100 percent healthy all year, both he and head coach Pete Carroll said that's not what limited the receiver to just one catch in the Week 5 loss to the Rams. It was just the way the game played out and the fact that the team accentuated the run and was successful doing so. Baldwin also had just one target, only the second time since 2013 he had just one catch in a game that he played all of. The good news is he played 53 of 60 offensive snaps and said, "I feel good." Seattle attempted just 21 passes, a season low and tied for the fewest since the 2014 season. They ran just 55 plays on the day, which also tied a season low. Seattle's 42.93 percent passing the ball over the last three weeks is dead last in the NFL behind. In two and a half games, Baldwin has six catches on nine targets for 42 yards. He should be more involved in the offense moving forward, but Seattle's reluctance to pass could become a concern. He'll have a good matchup in Week 6 against a Raiders team that is allowing 40.6 fantasy points per week to the position. Consider Baldwin a WR3 with WR2 upside for that one.
