Guardians Re-Sign Bryan Shaw
3 years agoThe Cleveland Guardians re-signed relief pitcher Bryan Shaw on Thursday, according to sources. MLB Network's Jon Heyman is reporting that the deal is for one year and $3 million and includes an option for the 2023 season. Shaw will make $9 million if he hits all his incentives and his option is exercised. The 34-year-old right-hander bounced back in 2021 in his return to Cleveland after three straight rough seasons with the Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners. He appeared in a league-high 81 games and had a 3.49 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, two saves, 20 holds and 71 strikeouts in 77 1/3 innings pitched for the Tribe. Shaw will only be worth looking at in leagues that reward points for holds.
