Griffin Canning Cleared To Resume Throwing
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Griffin Canning (elbow) has been cleared to resume his throwing program, according to general manager Billy Eppler. Canning will build up the intensity of his throwing program and could get back on a mound by the end of April. The right-hander had a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right elbow around four weeks ago and is hoping to avoid surgery that would likely keep him out for all of the 2020 season. The good news is that the delay of the season due to the coronavirus affords Canning some more time to recover, but there's still no timeline on when he'll be ready or if this route will help him avoid surgery. As of right now, he's still a risky pick in mixed leagues, as his current ADP sits at 300.6.
