Gregory Polanco Hoping To Start Rehab Assignment This Week
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco (shoulder) is increasing the intensity of his hitting and throwing and is hoping to start a rehab assignment before Triple-A Indianapolis' season ends on Sept. 2. There remains a chance that Polanco can return in mid-September to finish off the season, but he won't be helping fantasy owners the rest of the way. After offseason left shoulder surgery, 2019 has been a lost season for the 27-year-old, as he's hit just .242/.301/.425 with six home runs, 17 RBI and three steals in his 153 at-bats. If he's fully healthy in 2020, Polanco could represent a nice value pick late in drafts.
