Greg Olsen Undergoes Surgery On Foot
6 years agoCarolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen (foot), who was put on Injured Reserve earlier this month, had surgery last week on his foot and is expected to make a full recovery, according to a source. The 33-year-old has played in just 16 games the last two years combined due to foot issues, and he could decide to retire this offseason instead of rehab and try to return in 2019. He posted only 27 receptions for 291 yards and four touchdowns this year in nine games. Rookie Ian Thomas will be the team's pass-catching tight end the rest of the way and is a streaming candidate for the tight end-needy. Thomas had a season-high nine catches on 11 targets for 77 yards on Dec. 9 against Cleveland.
