Gerrit Cole Takes Loss In Game 3
2 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole didn't have his best stuff against the Houston Astros on Saturday, allowing five runs (three earned) over five mediocre innings in Game 3 of the ALCS. Cole gave up fives hits and two walks while striking out seven. Cole was undone by a misplay in the outfield where Aaron Judge and Harrison Bader nearly collided on a fly ball that fell in. Of course, the next batter homered, driving in what ended up being the game-winning run. This was Cole's worst start of the postseason, and unfortunately it came in a near must-win game for the Yankees. If they can somehow get back in the series, Cole would likely pitch Game 7.
