George Springer Unsure When He'll Swing
6 years agoHouston Astros outfielder George Springer (thumb), who has his wrist in a bulky brace, said he's unsure when he'll resume swinging a bat. At this rate it doesn't look like Springer will be back from the disabled list when he's eligible. He hasn't been as good as last year but is still hitting .250 with 19 home runs, 58 RBI, six stolen bases and 74 runs scored in 109 games. He's a must-start typically when he's in the lineup. Jake Marisnick is expected to continue seeing most of the playing time in the outfield with Springer sidelined, but he was also injured on Friday night. If Marisnick goes on the shelf, too, that'd open up decent at-bats for prospect Derek Fisher, although he's struggled in his brief time at the big league level so far.
