George Springer 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Hard To Trust Following Career Worst Year
2 days agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is coming off his worst season in the pros. He hit .220 at the plate with 19 home runs, 19 doubles, and 56 RBI last year. He also ranked in the 20th percentile in average exit velocity (87.5) and 34th percentile in hard-hit rate (37.4%). It was surely a year to forget for Springer, who totaled career lows in several categories. The veteran has also seen his batting average, home runs, and RBI decrease in three straight seasons. As a result, the 35-year-old outfielder will be hard to trust in all fantasy formats in 2025. He has just reached a point in his career where he isn't the same fantasy player he once was. His launch angle sweet-spot rate (29.2%) last season was the lowest of his career, and since he'll likely be hitting in front of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Anthony Santander in the lineup, his RBI numbers won't increase a ton from 2024. So, Springer will be a riskier pick in the later rounds. RotoBaller has him ranked 253rd in rotisserie leagues and 185th in points leagues.
