Garrett Crochet Likely To Need Tommy John Surgery
3 years agoChicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said that relief pitcher Garrett Crochet (elbow) will likely need Tommy John surgery, but he will go for a second opinion. Crochet walked off the field with a trainer on Thursday in his Cactus League outing, and the 22-year-old left-hander is now expected to miss the entire 2022 season. He was expected to be a big part of Chicago's bullpen this year after posting a 2.82 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 65 strikeouts and 27 walks in 54 1/3 relief innings in his second major league season. With Crochet likely out for the year and Craig Kimbrel now with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago's stacked bullpen is suddenly looking more vulnerable.
