Garrett Crochet Injured Thursday
3 years agoChicago White Sox relief pitcher Garrett Crochet left his Cactus League outing on Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds with a trainer due to an undisclosed injury. He faced just two batters before something went wrong, and he appeared to be showing some discomfort with his arm, but the exact nature of the injury is unknown. We'll have further updates on Crochet's status once more information comes in. The 22-year-old left-hander was set to serve as a key middle-relief arm for the White Sox's bullpen this year, but with Opening Day just a week away, it's very possible that he won't be ready for the start of the season. Crochet had a nice 2.82 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 65 K's in 54 1/3 relief innings in his second MLB season in 2021.
