Franmil Reyes Fully Cleared For Workouts
6 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Franmil Reyes (knee) has recovered from offseason surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee and has been fully cleared for workouts, but the Padres might take it slow with the 23-year-old this spring. "Coming back from a knee injury, we might hold him out of some running drills early," manager Andy Green said. "Right now, he's cleared to do everything with us, but no reason in early February to push him too hard." Reyes was the team's best second-half hitter and batted .280/.340/.498 with 16 home runs in 87 games in his rookie season. Due to a crowded outfield picture in San Diego, Reyes isn't guaranteed regular playing time. If he wins a job in spring training, though, Reyes' power will make him viable in mixed leagues.
