6 years agoOakland Athletics shortstop Franklin Barreto will be late to report to spring training later this week because of visa issues due to political unrest in Venezuela. However, the A's are hopeful he'll report a few days later on Feb. 17. Following the offseason acquisition of second baseman Jurickson Profar, Barreto is expected to see more time in the outfield this year and transition into a utility role. He'll be 23 on Feb. 27 and is in the final year of his deal with something to prove. Barreto should only be owned in AL-only and dynasty/keeper leagues for his upside, but playing time will be the main concern.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
