6 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas will start against the Mariners on Thursday, while Daniel Mengden will get the start on Saturday against the Mariners. Montas and Mengden will be replacing injured starters Sean Manaea and Brett Anderson, respectively. Montas has gone 5-3 with a 3.75 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 10 starts for the A's this year, but he lacks fantasy upside with his pedestrian 6.1 K/9. He won't be a strong streamer against Seattle. Mengden has gone 6-6 with a 4.28 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 57 strikeouts in 94 2/3 innings in 17 outings (16 starts). He, too, lacks much strikeout upside and will be a poor streaming choice in deeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
