Francisco Mejia Expected To Come Up In September
6 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Francisco Mejia, who is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the team's system, is expected to be promoted from the minors when rosters expand in September. He has been playing solely as a catcher after being acquired from the Indians last month, but he's expected to see time at the corner infield spots in San Diego. Mejia is hitting .300/.343/.480 with four home runs and six doubles in 108 plate appearances with Triple-A El Paso. He's one of the better catching prospects in baseball and should be owned in most dynasty leagues already. Pitching prospects Cal Quantrill and Logan Allen aren't expected to be called up this year.
