Francisco Lindor Still Uncertain For Opening Day
6 years agoCleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor's (calf) status for Opening Day on March 28 remains uncertain. However, he batted every inning in a modified minor league game on Wednesday and went 0-for-6 with two walks in eight plate appearances. Lindor doesn't think he needs to play in a Cactus League game to be ready for the season opener, but the Indians might disagree. The 25-year-old ran the bases at full effort Wednesday morning. While it's still likely that Lindor won't be ready next week, if he keeps progressing he won't miss much regular season time. The switch-hitter batted .277/.352/.519 with 38 home runs, 92 RBI and 25 stolen bases last year and should still come off the board in the first couple rounds of drafts.
