Forrest Whitley Set To Get On Mound Shortly
5 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Forrest Whitley (shoulder) has a plan that should allow him to get back on the mound in the next couple of weeks, according to general manager Jeff Luhnow. Whitley could pitch in Gulf Coast League games before the third week of July. The team's top prospect and No. 9 in all of baseball had an ugly 12.21 ERA and 2.05 WHIP in his first 24 1/3 innings for Triple-A Round Rock this year before getting hurt. The poor performance and injury have set him back and knocked him down in prospect appeal, but Whitley is still a future ace and should be stashed in dynasty/keeper leagues.
