Fish Land Jesus Sanchez, Ryne Stanek Wednesday
5 years agoThe Miami Marlins acquired outfield prospect Jesus Sanchez and pitcher Ryne Stanek from the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday in exchange for pitchers Trevor Richards and Nick Anderson, according to a source. Sanchez was Tampa's No. 4 prospect and No. 42 overall per MLB Pipeline, so this is an intriguing move. The 21-year-old has hit a combined .263/.323/.389 with nine home runs, 54 RBI and five stolen bases in 96 games with Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham, but he's really struggled in 18 games for Durham since his call-up. He has a chance to make his way to the big leagues next year and is one to watch in dynasty leagues. Stanek has mostly been used as an opener (27 times) in Tampa this year, but he might be the best closing candidate in Miami now that they've gutted their bullpen. Take a look at him in the deepest of leagues if you're desperate for saves. Tayron Guerrero is another option for ninth-inning duties in Miami.
