Felix Hernandez Says He's Ready
5 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Felix Hernandez (shoulder) said he's "ready to go" after throwing three-plus innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma on Monday. His fastball sat in the high-80s and topped out at 91 mph, giving up four hits and an earned run while striking out five. It was Hernandez's fourth rehab start, and he could rejoin the rotation as early as Saturday against the Blue Jays. Given Seattle's need for a fifth starter, they could really use Hernandez after his three-month recovery. The former Cy Young winner is a shell of his former self and cannot be trusted in most fantasy leagues anymore. His 4.79 ERA in the last four years is the 15th highest among 106 qualified starters. Hernandez is 1-4 with a 6.52 ERA in eight starts this year.
