Ezekiel Elliott In For Decreased Workload In Week 1?
5 years agoDallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will practice with the team on Wednesday, but a source said that the plan is for Elliott to see 20 to 25 snaps in Week 1 against the Giants. Rookie Tony Pollard will be behind Elliott, with fullback Jamize Olawale as a third-down guy for pass-protection purposes. Elliott is believed to be in excellent shape, but it remains to be seen how much the Cowboys will put on his plate right away after he missed all of training camp and the preseason. Those that drafted Zeke early in the first round probably aren't benching him in the season opener, but there will be obvious bust potential in Week 1 if he doesn't see his typical workload.
