11 months agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram heads into a pivotal Week 17 home matchup against Carolina tomorrow. It's been a tale of streaks for the veteran tight end this season. Engram hit four consecutive top-10 weekly finishes to start the year, then failed to reach that mark for the next seven in half-PPR scoring. He's been a top-six option at the position in three out of the past four outings, but now finds himself in a tough matchup at home against the Panthers. Carolina ranks top-five in fantasy points allowed to the position in 2023 and are second in yards allowed to tight ends. Backup C.J. Beathard will start, but this shouldn't hurt Engram's value very much given that he been the quarterback's favorite target when both players have been on the field. With a banged up group of pass-catchers, Engram should command a significant target share and thus cannot be left out of fantasy lineups even with a difficult matchup.--Ryan J. Goodman
