1 year agoOakland Athletics outfielder Esteury Ruiz (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's contest against the Detroit Tigers. In his absence, JJ Bleday is starting in center field and batting second against Tigers right-hander Michael Lorenzen. Ruiz injured his right shoulder on a dive back to first base on a pickoff attempt on Wednesday night and is headed for tests on Thursday. The 24-year-old speedster is reportedly feeling better, but the A's may play it safe and keep him out through next week's All-Star break. Fantasy managers aren't getting any power from Ruiz -- he has just one home run -- but he's leading all of baseball with 43 stolen bases in 85 games played in his first year in the Bay Area.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
