Erasmo Ramirez On His Way Out In Seattle
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Erasmo Ramirez is likely to be removed from the 40-man roster in the coming days, according to a source. It could come via a trade, a waiver claim or straight up being outrighted off the roster. Ramirez has enough MLB service time to refuse a minor league assignment, which would make him a free agent. The 28-year-old right-hander had a bad year in 2018, dealing with injuries and only throwing 45 2/3 innings over 10 starts. When he was on the mound he was bad, going 2-4 with a 6.50 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and weak 6.5 K/9. Ramirez isn't a strikeout guy, but he can be useful as a swingman when healthy. He's mostly a streaming option in single-universe leagues.
