Eloy Jimenez's Camp Unhappy He's Not In Majors
6 years agoChicago White Sox outfield prospect Eloy Jimenez and his agents Nelson Montes De Oca and Paul Kinzer are unhappy that their client will not play in the major leagues in 2018. Jimenez is hitting .370 after 50 games with Triple-A Charlotte and recently said "I'm ready." “I don’t see what boxes he needs to check to be called up … except for service time," Montes De Oca said. Starting pitcher Michael Kopech was recently brought up at 22 years old this year and Yoan Moncada was brought up at the same age last season, so the White Sox haven't paid much attention to the service-time clock. Kinzer said that they are considering filing a grievance against the White Sox if Jimenez isn't brought up soon. Chicago's recent silence on the matter suggests Jimenez will have to wait until next year to play for the Pale Hose. There's a strong case to be made that Jimenez should've been called up well before Kopech for the rebuilding White Sox, but it doesn't look likely that we'll see Jimenez in September. Keep him stashed in all dynasty/keeper leagues for 2019, though.
